Lightning Ball Live
Buy a ticket, match two numbers, and let a 2x-50x multiplier decide the rest. Here's exactly how Lightning Ball works, what it pays, and where to play it today.
Two machines, one Lightning Ball ticket
Every Lightning Ball ticket runs through two separate machines before you know if it's a winner. The first, loaded with 30 numbered balls, draws five numbers for your main ticket. The second, loaded with just ten balls, draws a single Powerball number, and that's the one tied to the multiplier.
You don't pick any of these numbers yourself. An RNG assigns five numbers from 1 to 30 plus one Powerball from 1 to 10 to every ticket the moment you buy it. Evolution built the game this way as an update to its earlier Lightning Lotto, trading a bigger number pool for faster, more frequent wins: match just two numbers instead of three, and you're already paid.
You can hold up to 200 tickets in one round, bought in blocks of 1, 10, 50, or 100. Once betting closes, both machines run in sequence, and every ticket gets checked and paid automatically before the next round opens, usually inside two minutes.

Why buying 200 tickets won't fix your odds
The purchase screen makes it tempting to max out at 200 tickets: tap a button, set your stake, and the total bet updates instantly. But here's what that screen doesn't tell you. The odds on each individual ticket are fixed the moment it's dealt. Buying more tickets covers more number combinations, it doesn't shift the probability of any single one of them winning.
That's the reasoning behind a habit worth borrowing: keep your ticket count low, somewhere around ten. At that number you can actually watch which tickets are close as the balls drop, instead of scanning a wall of 200 rows after the round ends. It also makes your stake go further. Ten tickets at a slightly higher stake each tends to make a hit feel worthwhile, where 200 tickets at the smallest possible stake barely register.
If you're playing multiple rounds back to back, autoplay repeats the same ticket count and stake for 15 to 20 rounds in a row. That's less about improving your odds and more about being able to actually track what you've won and lost, since every round uses the identical setup.
Anatomy of a Lightning Ball Live round
What actually happens, in order, from the moment betting closes to the moment you get paid.
-
Betting closes
Tickets lock in
The purchase window shuts and every ticket in play is locked. No more tickets can be added once the first ball drops.
-
First draw
Five numbers, drawn from 30
The main machine pulls five balls from its pool of 30. Every ticket sharing a number gets marked automatically as the balls land.
-
Multiplier reveal
A value between 2x and 50x locks in
The Lightning multiplier is generated live, before the Powerball machine even starts. It's the number every remaining ticket is hoping lines up with a Powerball hit.
-
Powerball draw
One ball, drawn from 10
The second machine, loaded with balls numbered 1 to 10, drops a single Powerball. Tickets that match it, plus at least one other number, get the multiplier applied to their payout.
-
Payout
Winning tickets are sorted and paid
Every ticket with two or more matches is sorted by value and paid instantly. The interface pushes your closest tickets to the top the moment the draw ends.

What it takes to trigger the Lightning multiplier
A multiplier alone doesn't guarantee a bigger payout. It only counts on tickets where the Powerball itself lands as one of the matched numbers, which is the detail most players miss the first time they play.
Match three regular numbers but miss the Powerball, and you're paid the standard rate, no multiplier attached. Match the Powerball plus at least one other number, and whatever value got drawn, anywhere from 2x to 50x, multiplies that ticket's payout.
Since the Powerball comes from a pool of just ten numbers, it lands on any given ticket roughly 1 time in 10. That's the real trigger rate for the multiplier, and it's low enough that a 50x hit still feels like an event rather than something baked into every round.
Multiplier values shown next to the tickets they apply to.
A live example: in the round pictured below, the multiplier landed at 150x on one ticket and 50x on another. Both tickets had matched their Powerball, so the boosted payout came straight through instead of stopping at the base rate.

What every Lightning Ball match is actually worth
Two matched numbers is the minimum to get paid, and the base rate from there is fixed no matter how many tickets you're holding. Here's the full table, plus what a maxed-out 50x multiplier does when the Powerball is part of the win.
| Numbers matched | Base payout | With Powerball + max 50x |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 1 : 1 | up to 50 : 1 |
| 3 | 4 : 1 | up to 200 : 1 |
| 4 | 14 : 1 | up to 700 : 1 |
| 5 | 99 : 1 | up to 4,950 : 1 |
| 6 | 999 : 1 | up to 49,999 : 1 |

RTP: 97.03%. That figure is the theoretical return calculated over millions of rounds. It doesn't predict any single ticket, and it's still higher than Lightning Lotto's 96.08%.
The real odds behind Lightning Ball
A payout table only tells half the story. Here's how often each of those matches actually happens per ticket.
| Numbers matched | Probability | Approx odds |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | ~16.13% | ~6.2 : 1 |
| 3 | ~2.1% | ~47.6 : 1 |
| 4 | ~0.0877% | ~1,140 : 1 |
| 5 | ~0.0007% | ~142,857 : 1 |
| 6 | ~0.00007% | ~1,428,571 : 1 |

Buying extra tickets adds coverage across more of these combinations, it doesn't raise the probability attached to any ticket you already hold. Every ticket is an independent draw against the same odds shown here.
Where Lightning Ball fits in Evolution's live lineup
Lightning Ball didn't appear in isolation. It's an update to an earlier Evolution game, and it shares a genre with another one still running today.
The sibling: Mega Ball
Mega Ball is Evolution's other bouncing-ball game, but it runs on bingo cards instead of lottery tickets.
Lightning Ball
- Format Number ticket
- Tickets per round Up to 200
- Number pool 30 + 10 Powerball
- RTP 97.03%
- Max payout ~49,999:1
Mega Ball
- Format Bingo card
- Cards per round Up to 400
- Number pool 51 numbers
- RTP 95.05%
- Max payout 999,999:1
Mega Ball's bigger number pool and card format make it feel busier, with a much larger ceiling on the top payout. Lightning Ball trades that ceiling for a higher RTP and a simpler ticket that's easier to follow round to round.
The predecessor: Lightning Lotto
Lightning Ball is a direct update to Lightning Lotto, Evolution's original bouncing-ball lottery game. A few key numbers changed along the way.
Lightning Ball
- Max tickets 200
- Number pool 1-30
- Multipliers per round 1 (2x-50x)
- RTP 97.03%
- Min match to win 2 numbers
- Max payout ~49,999:1
Lightning Lotto
- Max tickets 500
- Number pool 1-25
- Multipliers per round 2 numbers
- RTP 96.08%
- Min match to win 3 numbers
- Max payout 100,000:1
Lightning Ball pays out on just two matched numbers instead of three, and its RTP sits almost a full point higher. Lightning Lotto still wins on raw ceiling, with a 100,000:1 top payout against Lightning Ball's roughly 49,999:1.
Finding a table running Lightning Ball Live
Lightning Ball isn't a standalone app you download. It's dealt live inside Evolution's game-show studio, which means you'll find it inside the live lobby of any online casino that carries an Evolution license, sitting alongside games like Crazy Time and Mega Ball.
Before you deposit anywhere, confirm the site is licensed and that its payment pages run on SSL/TLS encryption; both usually show up in the site footer or as the padlock icon in your browser bar. Once you're logged in, search "Lightning Ball" directly, or look under the "Game Shows" or "Live Lottery" filter in the lobby.

What players say about Lightning Ball Live
A few notes from players who've spent real time on Lightning Ball rounds and used this guide.
"I'd only played Mega Ball before this. The two-number win threshold makes Lightning Ball a lot easier to actually cash out on. Lost track of time watching the multiplier hit on round three last week, that was a good night."
"Ten tickets at a time is my sweet spot, which is exactly what this page suggested before I worked it out the hard way. Buying 100 just felt like noise, I couldn't tell what was winning until the round ended."
"The payout table here matched what I saw in the game almost exactly, which I wasn't expecting from a guide site. It helped me understand why my four-number ticket only paid 14:1 instead of the huge number I was hoping for."
"Straightforward breakdown of the draw order. I didn't realize the multiplier only counts when the Powerball hits until I read the section here, would've kept expecting it on every win otherwise."
Frequently asked questions
Lightning Ball Live is Evolution's live lottery game. You buy tickets that carry five numbers from a 1-30 pool plus one Powerball number from 1-10. Match two or more numbers on a ticket and you win, and a live 2x-50x multiplier boosts the payout whenever the Powerball hits.
The published RTP for Lightning Ball is 97.03%, higher than the 96.08% RTP of the earlier Lightning Lotto. That's the theoretical long-term return, so any single session can land well above or below it.
A ticket with all six numbers pays 999:1 before multipliers. Catch the Powerball and land the top 50x multiplier on that same ticket, and the payout climbs to roughly 49,999:1 on a single ticket.
Lightning Ball runs on Evolution's live studio network, so it's available at online casinos that carry Evolution's live game shows. Pick a licensed site with SSL/TLS encryption on its payment pages, then look for Lightning Ball inside the live lottery or game-show lobby.
